We wanted to advise the members of several upcoming events before the monthly news letter comes out.
1) New Hampshire Law Enforcement Memorial Service will be held on
Friday, May 17th, 2013 at 10:00 AM behind the State House.
2) Placing Flags on Veteran’s Graves will take place on
Saturday, May 18th, 2013 at 8:00 AM at the Concord Cemetery,
at 207 North State Street, just before the State Prison.
Rain date is the following day on Sunday.
(please note that our very own Adjutant Ned Brooks coordinates this every year for
State HQ’s so let’s have a good showing)
3) Member Jose Pequeno’s mother, Nellie Bagley, has advised us that Jose and family will be able
to attend our meeting/installation on June 4th or 5th. This will be a first for Jose so let’s have a
good showing. We will be coordinating with Police Standards staff along with the District Five
installation team and expect to have a solid date by this Wednesday, May 15th.
Note: This will move our May meeting from the 29th to one of the two dates in June above.
4) Legion Memorial Day Observances will take place on Thursday, May 30th. 2013 beginning at
11:00 AM at the State Veterans’ Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
This year stone markers representing the Legion and the Forty and Eight will be unveiled along
the Walk of Honor. If you are unable to attend this ceremony, please make every effort to attend
services in your local community on the National Memorial Day which will be celebrated on
Monday, May 27th, 2013.
If anyone needs transportation to any of the above events, please contact the Commander.
