There were eight members at the meeting on August 27, 2014. Adjutant/Finance Officer Ned Brooks read the minutes of the previous meeting which were accepted. Ned also reported $7,209.22 in the checking account.

Membership as of the last report on September 19th, stands at 52%. As of the 19th we had 48 members re-up and 44 remaining. National has upped our goal by four to 92 members. Let’s get your 2015 dues in PDQ so we can make 100 % no later than the end of the year.

Adjutant/Finance Officer Ned Brooks reported on attending Charlie LaPierre’s funeral. You may recall Charlie was a WWII veteran and a Concord Police Officer for 25 plus years and when he passed , Charlie was 100 years old.

Ned also reported on the high school oratorical event where high school students prepare and speak about the Constitution.

Judge Advocate Dennis O’Brien spoke about our post alternating between supporting a young man and young lady each year for Boys’ State and Girls’ State. Right now we are supporting a young lady or a young man with preference being given to the young student(s) who apply from Sugar Hill, then Epsom, Hillsborough and Concord (in that order) first. A motion may be made at the next meeting to go statewide with our selection as opposed to the four communities mentioned above.
