May 2015 Newsletter

There were eight members at the meeting on April 29, 2015. Adjutant / Finance Officer Ned Brooks read the previous meeting’s minutes which were approved. Ned also reported $7, 253.84 in the checking account. Service Officer Roger Ball had nothing to report.

Membership: We had a few more members re-up this last month but we’re still hovering just below 90%. Our goal is to reach 100% by the State Convention during the weekend of June 27th. If you have not re-upped yet, please get you dues current before that time.

In the most recent Legion newsletter, the New Hampshire Legionnaire, for May/June 2015, our Post had photos and stories of the two most recent Charron-Legion Awards winners, Nashua Police Officer Jonathan Turcotte and New Hampshire Corrections Officer Adam Bowden.

Ned Brooks forwarded another copy of the badge to the embroidery shop as the shop needed or wanted it forwarded to them via e-mail.

Ned Brooks reports that Past Senior Vice Commander Roger Amadon and friend along with Sgt. at Arms Jim Nye participated with many members from other Legion Posts in replacing the flags on hundreds of Veterans’ graves at the Concord Cemetery. Ned coordinates this meaningful, state wide event each year.

Commander Dave Hargreaves represented the Post at the New Hampshire Law Enforcement Memorial Service on May 22nd in Concord.

Members elected to keep the same slate of officers at the nominations / elections at the April meeting. The results are: Commander: Dave Hargreaves Senior Vice Commander: J. Scott Crocker

Adjutant and Finance Officer: Ned Brooks Service Officer: Roger Ball*

Chaplain: Mark Lindsley Judge Advocate: Dennis O’Brien

Historian: Bernie Rushin Sergeant at Arms: Jim Nye

* Roger Ball was also appointed the Post’s Public Information Officer again.
